1 Corinthians 2:1-10

Whether it’s someone with an advanced degree or an average human being that happens to have a vast buffet of smarts residing in their cranium, most of us know someone that seems to know everything.

There’s nothing wrong with possessing knowledge, but how it’s advertised. If we are our own fan club, then we come across as “know-it-alls.” However, if we clothe our God-given brilliance in humility our validity is found in Christ’s power, not in our own feebleness.

The apostle Paul knew the value of such humility. Paul was probably one of those “go to” individuals when there was a question. Although his knowledge was vast, he was careful to let people know the message he delivered was from God. When Paul spoke, he allowed the Spirit to demonstrate God’s power through his words so that the people would have faith in the Father, not in Paul.

Not everyone is a walking encyclopedia, nonetheless our words are accompanied by a sense of power as we speak them. Which power inspires your thinking? Let’s resolve together to let our words be fueled by holy means and not our own.
