Revelation 3:14-22
Recently I helped install a door for a friend. I was under the impression that it was going to be fairly simple. The project turned into much more. The doorway needed to be cut open wider to fit the new frame, the door needed to be sanded and stained, and the door frame needed to be installed and painted. It was a lot of work, but it turned out great.
Doors are a significant part of our everyday lives. Typically, when someone knocks on the door someone inside will open the door. God is knocking and waiting for us to answer. Revelation 3 was written to the church in Laodicea. This letter reminds us all that we must continually allow Jesus through the doorway of our lives.
We do this by continuing to build our relationship with the Lord through our prayer life, reading the Bible, and being a part of our faith community. We fellowship with Jesus when we allow Him into our lives. We are having conversations and spending time together with Him, allowing Jesus to shape us and our community.
