Mark 14:60-65
There is a temptation for believers in our Christian-critical culture to stay close to the home fires rather than stepping out into a cold, unaccommodating world to show and share the Good News of Jesus. It’s never been easy to step outside our comfort zones to obey the “go” of the gospel. Wouldn’t it be easier if God would simply show off with some signs and wonders? Then comes the reminder that people won’t “be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.”(Luke 16:31).
Jesus’ stunning silence in the face of his illegal inquisition brings home a practical and relevant point. The conduit between God and a needy world is His Church: you and me. There’s no plan B. Without our voice, His voice is silent.
As a point of encouragement, the most useful evangelical tool is something every believer has: a personal testimony of Christ’s transforming grace. No one can take it away. It can’t be debated. It’s your story. Tell it for His glory.
