Proverbs 31:1-9

David refused to hide God’s love and faithfulness to him. In the years before he became king, he was mistreated, rejected, and hunted. He could have emphasized the stories of his trouble. Instead, he focused on how God showed up. He testified to the faithfulness and power of God.

How much do our families and friends know about how God’s faithfulness has shown up in our lives? Probably not enough. Why are we hesitant to share our faith stories? People don’t debate stories; they listen to them. That’s why Jesus used them so much. We need to follow David’s reminder to talk about God’s faithfulness more than our problems.

Make a list of how God has been faithful. Then, look for ways to share your stories with family first, especially with children. On holidays, especially Easter, ask a family member to share a faith story. The more comfortable we get sharing our stories of God’s faithfulness with the people we love, the easier it is to share God’s faithfulness with others.

Our world needs more faith stories.
