Ezra 1:1-11
Sometimes, questions abound. Often, the longer we journey this narrow Jesus-road, the more things don’t always make simple sense. Prayers we agonize over are not resolved the way we hope. People we love walk through tremendous times of difficulty. Life has a way of causing us all disappointment, suffering, and pain. Sometimes, God’s family experiences earthly exile.
Enter the story of Ezra. Remember that this story comes after the children of Israel had been scattered and exiled from their promised land. Yet, a Persian king responds to a call from God to rebuild what had been shattered.
You may be walking through the “valley of the shadow of death,” or in your own personal season of desolation. Yet, God is weaving together a story of hope and redemption. God has a way of working all things together, in His time and for His glory, as we trust His heart and plan.
