If you could imagine the book of Proverbs as a person, it would be the friend who tells you the unfiltered, straightforward, honest truth. We all need a friend like that in our lives.
We live in a very complicated period in history. So much of what we think, do, and say is available for global public consumption in social media posts. Our ability to have conversations about issues with those who have different perspectives is fractured. The amount of information and misinformation available to us online, as well as through other mediums such as television and news, is unprecedented. We are walking through a time with significantly polarized perspectives on a diverse array of topics.
These ancient, practical wisdoms of Proverbs are uncannily timely: don’t hate with your words, don’t lie. Imagine the transformation that would take place on social media and in our public discourse if we actively applied this wisdom to our daily lives.
